About This Site

Finding a recent arrest in Butler County, or a booking photo from one, starts with a simpler question: which office actually holds the record. The sheriff's office and the county jail in Greenville create the booking record, the courts hold what happens after an arrest, and the state prison locator covers people who have been sentenced and transferred. This site pulls those official paths into one place. It is privately maintained, and it hosts no photo galleries of any kind.

Why This Site Exists

Alabama treats most arrest and booking information as public record. The hard part in Butler County is that none of it sits in one place online, because the county publishes no jail roster of its own. The official channels are the sheriff's office at 801 Walnut Street in Greenville, the Butler County Correctional Facility at 800 Walnut Street, and the Circuit Clerk at the courthouse on Court Square. The county website does link a sheriff-branded mobile app, but the county itself says updates to that app are in progress, so it cannot be treated as a working booking feed.

We built this site to gather the official contacts, the lookup steps, the phone-first fallback, and the open-records request path into one plain guide. When no roster exists, a search turns into a phone call and a written request, and a person deserves to know that before spending an hour hunting for a list that is not published. No booking photos are republished here, and no galleries are hosted.

What You Will Find Here

The site is small on purpose. Every page points at an official source or explains a step for reaching one.

  • A county-wide arrest guide on the home page that walks the whole search path, from the jail phone check to the court record to the state prison locator.
  • The same-day window covered on who was arrested today, the multi-day newspaper blotter on the arrest reports page, and the custody-alert walkthrough on the VINE arrest check page.
  • City pages for Greenville, Georgiana, and McKenzie arrests, each with its own police department, booking path, and court routing.
  • How to request a booking record under Alabama's open-records law, what to ask for, and why the first question is always for the office's written procedure, laid out in the records-request guide.

What We Cannot Do

This site is privately run. It has no connection to the Butler County Sheriff's Office, the Butler County Correctional Facility, any Alabama court, or any other government agency. That independence sets honest limits on what we can do for you.

  • We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody. Those decisions belong to the jail and the courts.
  • We cannot confirm whether a named person is in custody right now.
  • We cannot post bond, schedule a jail visit, or send money to an inmate on your behalf.
  • We cannot give legal advice. For that, talk to a licensed Alabama attorney.
  • We cannot guarantee every phone number, fee, or address printed here is current, because county details change without notice.

Official answers come from the office, not from us. Only the Butler County Sheriff's Office or the Butler County Correctional Facility can confirm current custody, charges, or release. For booking and custody questions, call the jail at 334-382-3321.

Search Partners and Referral Fees

Some pages on this site carry search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those providers set their own pricing and their own rules for what a search returns. When one of those tools leads you to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee, and that income is what keeps the site free to browse. We do not control the results those tools return, what they charge, or how they handle the information you type into them.
